Lakes to Locks Passage
The Feeder Canal, Glens Falls, NY

The Feeder Canal Park is a linear trail along the Old Towpath from the Feeder Dam in Glens Falls to the feeder connection to the Old Champlain Canal. Running between Fort Edward and Glens Falls, the Feeder Canal Park is a seven mile trail-- a linear scenic park complete with locks, calm water, and a 10' wide towpath for bikes, joggers, rowers, walkers, cross country skiers, and general sightseers.

Canoeists and kayakers can also enjoy the waters of the Feeder Canal. This system was completed in 1832 to connect the high waters of the Hudson to the lower level Champlain Canal. It is now preserved, and still provides water for operation of the Champlain Canal. At Hudson Falls, there's an excellent view of five old locks "The Five Combines".
