Visitor Services
There are a variety of visitor services available along the Red River Gorge Scenic Byway. However, the 24-mile KY715 stretch of the Byway does not offer all visitor services so plan accordingly.

Special Considerations
- Travel must be cautious and slow along the Byway after an ice storm.
- Help preserve the past by not disturbing or collecting historical or archaeological artifacts.
- There are many cliffs in the Red River Gorge area so plan accordingly.
Restrictions
Large trucks are prohibited from Nada Tunnel because of its small size.
Seasons
- Best Time to Drive
The Byway can be driven in all seasons, however, roads may become icy during winter so travel with caution.
- Fall
Fall brings brilliant foliage.
- Spring
Springtime offers spectacular flowering wildflowers, redbuds and dogwood blooms.
- Summer
Summer offers the lush forest green, and nature's air-conditioning. A difference of 10 degrees can be noticed between the forest and town.
- Winter
Winter provides magnificent ice formations, and snow covered mountains.
