International Selkirk Loop
Mill Pond Flume Interpretive (Teaching) Site, WA

The Mill Pond Flume Historic Site in the Colville National Forest offers a 15-30 minute family fun hike in forest surroundings with interesting interpretation. A .6 mile paved interpretive loop trail is an easy walk, and explains the significance of the Mill Pond flume. It diverted water for hydroelectric power to develop a limestone deposit near Metaline Falls during settlement and development of the area. Limestone was used in the cement for the region's bridges and dams.
