Historic Route 66
Blue Hole, NM

Blue Hole, bordered by a ring of sandstone, plunges 81 feet down a well shaped like a soda bottle. Once used as a fish hatchery, it now serves as a dive-training and recreational site. The water maintains a cool temperature of 61 degrees Fahrenheit, so diving takes place year-round.

Once in the well, algae-covered walls complement the scenery. The deep blue water is clear with an approximate visiblity of 80 feet.

The Santa Rosa Dive Center rents out gear and provides air fills on the weekends. It opens midweek only by appointment for certified divers and groups.
