Casamero Anasazi Ruins, NM
Casamero Pueblo Ruins are the remnants of an Anasazi community that lived around Chaco Canyon between 1000-1125 AD.
The ruins include a single structure of 22 ground-floor rooms of Chacoan Ancestral Pueblo people who settled here. The main ruins include a small pueblo and an unexcavated great kiva. This archeological site is a prime example of the rise, demise, and movement of the ancient people. Nearby pueblos carry on traditions that date back to the times when the now empty cities thrived.
