The Navajo people (Dine') lived in the area that they called Dine'tah long before the arrival of the Spanish or Anglo-Americans. During the 1860s the Navajos were relocated to New Mexico in a move called the Long Walk by historians. Later they were repatriated into a portion of their ancestral lands and the Federal Government set the area aside as the the Navajo Reservation. The vast reservation is the largest in the nation filled with incredible beauty in all directions.
