San Francisco Peaks, AZ
Yes, there are volcanoes in AZ! The San Francisco Volcanic Field, is located mostly within the Coconino National Forest. During its 6-million-year history, this field has produced more than 600 volcanoes. The most prominent being the San Francisco Peaks, the only stratovolcano in the Field. The Peaks, sacred to the Southwest Native Tribes, stand 12,633 feet and serves as a backdrop to the city of Flagstaff.
