Oklahoma State Capitol, OK

The state capitol is famous for oil wells located on the actual property and remains the only state capitol grounds in the United States with active oil rigs. The capitol building sits directly on top of the Oklahoma City Oil Field and is listed on the National Register for Historic Places. The capitol is one of two in the nation located along Route 66 and covers 400,000 square feet on six (6) floors. Inside, the traveler can explore Oklahoma’s history past and present.
