Historic Route 66
Holbrook, AZ

This small town remains a key stop when traveling in from New Mexico or visiting the Petrified Forest. It still has an impressive inventory of vintage Route 66 restaurants, shops (including petrified rock shops), and hotels. The Pony Express is still alive and well in Holbrook, and the buildings along Route 66 span more than 100 years of western architecture. Building upon its Route 66 roots, the city has been collecting Route 66 neon signs with plans to create a Route 66 art walk.
