Driving the Byway

The Adirondack Trail begins in the city of Fonda and continues north through the Adirondack Park to Malone. From Fonda, follow Route 30A northward. Continue straight as Route 30A merges with Route 30, then follow Route 30 northward. At the junction with Route 8, take the left fork. Continue straight to follow Route 30 to the community of Indian Lake. Turn left onto Route 28 and continue towards the community of Blue Mountain Lake.

Just outside the community of Blue Mountain Lake, turn right onto Route 28N, and continue northward towards the community of Long Lake. Just below Long Lake, turn left to continue north along Route 30 through Long Lake and into the community of Tupper Lake.

In Tupper Lake, turn right onto Route 3. Continue until the road forks, take the left fork to continue northward along Route 30. As you approach the Adirondack Regional Airport, Route 30 will veer left. Follow Route 30 northward until you reach the village of Malone.
