  • Bridge of Flowers (MA)

    Once a trolley bridge, local citizens purchased the dilapidated bridge and restored it. To further beautify it, they planted thousands of flowers on the actual bridge.

  • "Hail to the Sunrise" Statue (MA)

    This beautiful statue depicts a Mohawk warrior welcoming the sunrise.

  • Hoosac Tunnel (MA)

    Also called the "Bloody Pit," this tunnel cost the lives of over 196 men to construct. It is a 4.7 mile long railroad tunnel built in 1873. It was here that nitroglycerin was used for the first time in an industrial purpose.

  • Mohawk Trail State Forest (MA)

    This state forest still has remnants of the ancient Mohawk Trail. Visitors can come here and still hike many parts of this historic Indian highway.

    Mt. Greylock is the tallest mountain in Massachusetts. Many authors have recieved inspiration while gazing at this mountain, including Thoreau, Melville, and Hawthorne.
