Akta Lakota Museum, SD
In the heart of Sioux Country on the banks of the Missouri River is one of South Dakota's most interesting places to visit. The Akta Lakota Museum and Cultural Center is a tribute to the Sioux Nation, striving to preserve and promote Sioux culture, past and present.
The museum is located on the beautiful campus of St. Joseph's Indian School, a privately funded residential/educational facility for Native American youth.
