Big Bend Scenic Byway
Leon Sinks Geological Site, FL

Of global scientific interest for its karst topography—a porous landform pierced by channels extending through dissolved limestone, which is thinly covered with sand where water is quickly absorbed. Created over millions of years, features highlighted on the 4.8 mile interpretive trail include sinkholes, disappearing rivers, springs, underground caverns, swamps, swales, a natural bridge, streams, and depressions.
