Public Accommodations

The area has many overnight facilities for visitors. They include more than 1,400 motel rooms and a private campground also located on the byway. Several restaurants and a gas station are located on the northern terminus of the Scenic Byway. Wytheville, at the intersection of Interstates 77 and 81, just 3.5 miles from the southern terminus, features motels, restaurants and other visitor accommodations.

Lodging can also be obtained on the byway at Stony Fork Cabin, located inside the Stony Fork Campground. This one bedroom log cabin sleeps four with a sofa bed. The cabin has laundry facilities, a full bath, a private patio and fully equipped kitchen. It may be rented by the night, weekend or week and is a not-so-rustic alternative to camping.
