Driving the Byway

  • To begin your journey on Ohio's Lincoln Highwayv, cross the toll bridge from West Virginia into Ohio on Highway 30, at the East Liverpool Exit to downtown.
  • Follow Lincoln Highway on Fifth Street and Rt 257 north through Glenmoor.
  • While you're on Rt 257, go under Highway 30, and turn left at East Liverpool Road.
  • Turn right onto Highway 30, and travel through Lisbon, Hanoverton, and Minerva.
  • Turn left onto East Tuscarawas Street in Canton.
  • Follow this main street as it changes to Lincoln Way in Massillon, also known as Rt 172 through East Greenville, then Lincoln Way through Dalton. You will rejoin HIghway 30 just west of Dalton.
  • Just west of Rt 57, exit at Carr Rd and follow signs to travel west on the Old Lincoln Highway.
  • Old Lincoln Highway becomes Pittsburgh Avenue and Liberty Street in Wooster.
  • Three miles past Wooster, the byway splits. The official 1928 route is marked as Rt 30A.
  • Travel through Jefferson, Reedsburg, Jeromesville, and Hayesville on Rt 30A.
  • Continue west through Mifflin.
  • Just west of Mifflin, follow Rt 430 by turning left.
  • Travel past Charles Mill Lake into Mansfield.
  • Go through Mansfield on Park Avenue, and watch for Western Avenue, which is west of the Public Square, turning right.
  • Turn left at West Fourth Street, and continue out of Mansfield and into Crestline, where the Lincoln Highway becomes Main Street.
  • One mile west of Crestline, turn left onto Leesville Road, and pass through Leesville.
  • Just west of Leesville, turn left onto Lincoln Hwy, and travel into Bucyrus.
  • Travel through Bucyrus on Mansfield Street, and follow that road into Oceola, then through Upper Sandusky.
  • On the west side of Upper Sandusky, turn right, and then left to exit town.
  • Continue on Lincoln Highway through Williamstown, Beaverdam and I-75, and through Cairo and Gomer.
  • Keep following Lincoln HIghway into Delphos. Kuncikn Highway will turn into Fifth St.
  • Travel to Van West, where the road becomes Main Street. Continue west out of town.
  • Go past Convoy where Lincoln Hwy is now marked as Ridge Road.
  • Cross over Highway 30, and turn left onto Dixon Road.
  • Turn right onto Highway 30, where the original Lincoln Highway road bed was consumed by the four-lane highway into Indiana.
