The world-famous Winterthur Estate, showcasing the enormity of the du Pont wealth, sits on nearly 1,000 acres. Henry Francis du Pont transformed his childhood house into 7-story mansion with 175 rooms. Inside is one of the world's foremost collections of American art and furniture. Outside, the masterfully designed landscape contains a number of beautiful gardens.
