Wetlands and Wildlife Scenic Byway
Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area, KS
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks operates 19,857 acres of the Bottoms as a wildlife management area. Nature enthusiasts, hikers, birdwatchers and photographers will marvel at the wildlife and flora that depend on the marshland. Cheyenne Bottoms provides critical habitat for a number of threatened and endangered birds. In addition to the bird population, the Bottoms are home to 23 species of mammals, 19 species of reptiles, and 9 species of amphibians.
