  • Cedar Point National Wildlife Refuge (OH)

    Cedar Point National Wildlife Refuge was donated to the Fish and Wildlife Service in 1964 by the owners of the Cedar Point Shooting Club. Currently, the refuge consists of 2,445 acres of marsh, divided into three pools. The largest pool, almost 2,000 acres, is the largest contiguous marsh in Ohio's Lake Erie marshes.

    Location:

    To reach the fishing access, turn north on Yondota Road off of State Route 2. Yondota Road is located three miles east of the Oregon city limits or 9 miles east of I-280. Travel 2 miles north from St. Rt. 2 on Yondota. The fishing access is at the end of an approximately 1/2-mile entrance road that turns to the left off of Yondota road.

  • Conneaut Harbor West Breakwater Lighthouse (OH)

    The Conneaut Harbor West Breakwater Lighthouse is the latest in lighthouses to monitor Conneaut Harbor. Its 60-foot steel tower was built in 1936 and has a black band that serves as a navigational guide during the day. This is a "sister" lighthouse to one in Huron.

    At the end of the west breakwater in the harbor at Conneaut.

  • Fort Meigs State Memorial

    Directions:

    From Anthony Wayne Trail (Route 24) along Byway in Maumee, exit on Conant Street (Route 20) toward Perrysburg. This will become Front Street (Route 25) upon crossing the Maumee River. At West Broadway Street, turn right and then turn right on W. Indiana Avenue to the site.

  • Great Lakes Marine Museum and Coast Guard Memorial Museum

    This is one of six byway museums dedicated to preserving the maritime heritage of the Great Lakes.

    Location:

    1071 Walnut Blvd. in Ashtabula; turn east on Walnut Boulevard at its intersection with Hulbert Avenue.

  • Great Lakes Science Center

    Learn about Great Lakes ecology and science at several areas on the Great Lakes Environmental Floor. Observation decks afford views of Lake Erie, and an OMNIMAX theatre features a six-story screen.
