Bicycle/Pedestrian Facilities

Bicycle and pedestrian traffic is well accommodated along the byway. Bicyclists enjoy the Seagull Century and the View Trail 100. The Lower Eastern Shore Heritage Council’s detailed bicycle brochure and website provide information for cyclists.

Hiking trails are available in several state parks, including Assateague, Janes Island, Pocomoke River, and Chesapeake Forest Lands.

The Ocean City boardwalk is one of the most successful pedestrian malls in the US. Almost all of the millions of annual visitors to the city walk the boardwalk.
