The park offers handicap accessible parking in all of its parking lots, and handicap accessible ramps at overlooks and visitor centers, in addition to handicap accessible restrooms.

Restrictions
A permit is required for commercial vehicles, common carriers and sightseeing tour vehicles for hire. Non-motorized vehicles such as bicycles are prohibited from the roadway. Taxicabs licensed in DC, Maryland or Virginia are allowed on any portion of the parkway without a permit or payment of fees.
All 2 wheel passenger vehicles are accommodated by the George Washington Memorial Parkway, without restriction. The entire route is paved.
Seasons
- Best Time to Drive
Springtime with wide expanses of flowering shrubs, bulbs and trees, and fall offers panoramic leaf change set against the Potomac River.
- High Season
Two weekday rush hour periods occur, morning and afternoon. Seasonal peak visitation occurs during the Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring, and July 4th.
