The road is impassable during the winter and after heavy rain.

Restrictions

This route is a Type III, single-lane dirt road with numerous rough sections, steep grades, and blind curves. A four-wheel drive vehicle is strongly recommended.

The byway is generally open year-round in the lower elevations, but roads in the higher elevation tend to be passable only from July through October.
