South Mountain is rich in both Civil War history and landscape, being the continuation of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Location: Separates the Shenandoah Valley and Cumberland Valley from the eastern part of Maryland. South Mountain is the continuation of the Blue Ridge Mountains after they enter Maryland.
