East Tennessee Crossing
Wilderness Road State Park, VA

Wilderness Road State Park is a Virginia state park lying six miles east of the East Tennessee Crossing byway. The state built a careful re-creation of Martin’s Station, a Wilderness Road trading post and fort that existed during the time of Daniel Boone. A professional movie tells the story of the site and the time. The site is very dramatic as the cliffs of Pine Mountain rise up, reminding the visitor of today why Cumberland Gap was the chosen route.
