Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN

One of the most visited national parks in the country, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has welcomed over 10 million visitors. The eastern gateway to the park is in Cocke County. The National Park offers an in-depth look at Appalachian culture including the largest collection of log cabins in the country (80 at last count). The visitors center and tours provide a detailed look at Mountain heritage. Of particular import is the Cherokee Nation, native peoples of the East Tennessee Crossing corridor.
