Tazewell has two historic districts that were the original town centers. A historic 1920s Gulf Gas Station was included as a scene in the 1958 movie 'Thunder Road' with Robert Mitchum. The town also offers a brief Civil War driving tour and a one of the best diners on the East Tennessee Crossing.
