Special Considerations

Tour buses are capable of traveling the route with one exception in Weare. Currently the corner of 77 and 114 is too tight of a turn to allow tour buses to safely navigate. A truck route has been put in place (Center Road) to avoid this corner. In each of the town centers there is public parking at the Town Halls where tour buses may park.

Restrictions

A number of properties privately and publicly owned are either not open to the public or have limited hours of operation.

Seasons

Best Time to Drive

Spring to fall is ideal to drive the byway as all the features are open to the public.

High Season

September and October is the high season due to the beautiful fall foliage. In addition, many cultural events during this time enrich the visitor experience.

Winter

Opportunities do exist for winter activities and include cross-country skiing.
