America's Byways and National Wildlife Refuges
Lake Erie Coastal Ohio Trail
(Ohio)
While enjoying the Lake Erie Coastal Ohio Trail's abundant lighthouses, museums, and recreational opportunities, make sure to visit another can't-miss-attraction: the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. Although the refuge, which sits along the byway on Highway West Ohio-2, is known for its amazing bird watching, it offers much more. You'll have the opportunity to take an up-close look at a variety of animals such as eagles, white-tailed deer, coyotes, and Peregrine Falcons. Come and hike the refuge's 7.5 miles of trails, and enjoy the guided tours, which are available upon request. Be sure to make time and stop to marvel at the impressive nature and wildlife available at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.
