January 3, 2006 - America’s Byways® Logo Registered
The U.S. Patent and Trade Office notified FHWA that the America’s Byways logo is a registered service mark, effective on December 20, 2005. While its application was being considered, FHWA has been using America’s Byways™. The red and blue colors also are claimed as a feature of the logo. The National Scenic Byway Online staff are making changes on the http://www.byways.org and http://www.bywaysonline.org websites to reflect the newly registered America’s Byways® logo. FHWA is also incorporating the register mark into collateral materials, currently under development, to promote the America’s Byways® brand.
