December 29, 2008 - Gingerbread Contest Winners Announced on Creole Nature Trail

The annual Gingerbread House Contest People’s Choice winners were announced Monday, Dec. 29 in Lake Charles, LA, along the Creole Nature Trail.

The contest was held in conjunction with the annual Southwest Louisiana Christmas Lighting Festival and featured awards in different categories, including amateur and school groups. Entries showcased themes such as the “Three Little Pigs,” “Barbie,” and “International Christmas.”

Entrant Olivia Vincent’s creation won in the children’s division, while Mona Holman’s entry was chosen in the adult division.

Sponsors of the event included: A Piece of Cake, Casa Manana, the Children’s Museum, Children’s Theatre Company, the Isle of Capri Casino & Hotel, Jo’s Party House, L’Auberge du Lac Casino Resort, Putt-Putt Golf, Que Pasa Taqueria, the Southwest Louisiana Swashbucklers and Walker’s Cajun Dining.
