January 15, 2009 - Indian River Lagoon Hosts Frog Leg Festival
Come and enjoy a delectable meal of frog legs and gator tales at the 18th Annual Frog Leg Festival, held the third weekend in January in Fellsmere, Florida on the Indian River Lagoon Scenic Byway.
Thousands attend this festive occasion which boasts two Guinness Book of World Records for the most frog legs consumed at a festival. The Festival includes specialty events such as Frog Jumping Contests, Hot Legs Contests, and the Red Neck Olympics including Pig’s Feet Bobbin’. Bring your entire family for froggy fun!
The festival offers frog leg and gator tail dinners along with a variety of other foods. There are midway rides, games, pony rides, over 100 craft exhibits, live entertainment and much more. This four day event usually attracts about 80,000 visitors. Enjoy free admission, free parking, and free entertainment.
