Historic Columbia River Highway

Very nice drive, the waterfalls are amazing!! Don't miss it when in the area.

Incredible scenery! We spent nearly a day from Vancouver to Bonneville Dam. I took so many pictures, it was hard to decide which to share, but I found the people fishing along the river near the dam extraordinary. Hundreds of people of all ages were shoulder to shoulder with fishing poles, waiting patiently for the catch.

I had always wanted to go to Oregon. Finally it was just time to take the trip.

This is a beautiful area. You can drive along the Columbia River Gorge on both the Oregon & Washington side, but Oregon's side has waterfalls all over and beautiful scenic views. You can see salmon swimming upstream at a nature stop & read about the area. The Washington side is lower, but also very interesting.

If you like waterfalls -- one right after another -- you will love the old drive through the Columbia Gorge. The tallest, Multnomah, is especially impressive, but all the others along the road deserve at least a few moments. Many will also be interested in the Bonneville Dam and its fish ladders.
