I took so many pictures, it was hard to decide which to share, but I found the people fishing along the river near the dam extraordinary. Hundreds of people of all ages were shoulder to shoulder with fishing poles, waiting patiently for the catch.

You can drive along the Columbia River Gorge on both the Oregon & Washington side, but Oregon's side has waterfalls all over and beautiful scenic views. You can see salmon swimming upstream at a nature stop & read about the area. The Washington side is lower, but also very interesting.

The tallest, Multnomah, is especially impressive, but all the others along the road deserve at least a few moments. Many will also be interested in the Bonneville Dam and its fish ladders.
