A Traveler's Experience

Starting out from Cooke City before daylight, we enjoyed the Beartooth Highway as twilight slowly revealed shapes and colors of the ranchlands along the way and the mountains above them, until the morning sun broke through, lighting up the heights and working its way into the meadows. It was a journey enriched by traveling through timescape as well as landscape. We traveled the Beartooth only as far as the Chief Joseph Highway, and may have missed the best part but the Chief Joseph itself is quite a drive.
