A Traveler's Experience

Acadia's gorgeous coastal scenery offers many attractive opportunities for day hikers: Cadillac Mountain, Otter Cliffs, Jordan Pond among others. Boat trips out of Bass Harbor are available. Lighthouse fans will want to visit the Bass Harbor Light. Even those not particularly attracted to gateway communities can find something to like about Bar Harbor, and those who enjoy such things will be in heaven there. You walk dryshod across the bar from town to Bar Island at low tide. It's an interesting walk. Great place.
What Others Have Said
AlbertLi on December 3, 2005 (traveled on October 23, 2005)We were very impressed by the views at the Acadia Byway even in this cold raining day... Beside enjoying the very delicious Maine lobster, we also went back to Acadia Byway later to play around the blessed great nature...
JB on May 30, 2004 (traveled on July 11, 2000)This place is fantastic! Acadia Byway will take you to places you will never forget. The best time to do it is in the evening, just before dusk. To see the sun set over the Porcupine Islands is a sight you will always remember!
