A Traveler's Experience
ATM on April 26, 2007Old Canada Road Scenic Byway (ME)
The "old Canada Road" is a special place for me. I grew up in Western Maine, and the byway was named such because of the link that Rt 201 provided immigrants from Canada (especially Quebec) to the US via Maine. My grandparents were one such family, moving to Jackman in the early 50's, and finally settling in North Anson.
The area also brings back memories of the shenanigans my brothers and I were involved in during High School while they were working on the river with one of the rafting companies.
All joking aside, it is a beautiful area that will help you understand why so many people refer to Maine as "God's Country".
