A Traveler's Experience
CastellanosML on August 15, 2007 (traveled on July 1, 2007)Kaibab Plateau-North Rim Parkway (AZ)
My husband and I rode through the Kaibab Plateau on our Harley during a 17-day adventure across the United States. At 5:30 in the morning there was no one on the road and it was 48 degrees (freezing on a motorcycle). But despite the cold it was a beautiful drive. We had gorgeous views of the sun rising one side of the road and the moon on the other. The changes in landscape from desert brush to the wildflowers blooming to deer grazing in meadows. And to top it off with views of the Grand Canyon that were spectacular. And we were the only ones there to enjoy it!
What Others Have Said
digdug on January 13, 2011 (traveled on October 20, 2010)Took off on my motorcycle for on a 3-day, 1400-mile trip thru the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, then the South Rim, then down thru Sedona and Prescott, Arizona then back to Las Vegas. What a awesome ride. You could definitely feel the temp change with all the different elevations. Next time I'll not ride so much and enjoy exactly where I am.
