The Gold Belt Byway is one delight after another! Views of Pikes Peak, the Arkansas River Valley, and historic mining towns of Cripple Creek and Victor are just a few. The new Pikes Peak Heritage Center at Cripple Creek offers information about the region's attractions and features state-of-the-art displays on mining history, Native Americans, local geology, and area plants and animals - and it's FREE - a must see! I live in Woodland Park, Colorado and experience new things each time I'm on the byway - like a herd of Bighorn sheep this fall and beautiful sunsets over the Continental Divide.
