A Traveler's Experience
msbiker on February 23, 2008 (traveled on July 7, 2006)Beartooth Highway (MT, WY)
We rode our motorcycles (seven of us on seven Harleys) over Beartooth Hwy in the summer of 2006. What an experience! The night before we stayed in Hardin, MT and our next stop was to be Cody, WY. I had expressed some concern about the mountains to the group but was voted down when I suggested we detour around Beartooth Pass. At breakfast, before we left Hardin, my brother-in-law told me that at any time during the day's ride, I could turn around and skip riding Beartooth Highway. After the ride up and over the top, the stop at the Top of the World gift shop, and then down to the valley, I felt exhilarated! I then told my brother-in-law I wanted to go back and do it again. The views are magnificent and the road was in excellent condition. This is a must-do ride for every motorcyclist.
