A Traveler's Experience

The Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the best maintained roads in the United States. The many, many overlooks are convenient and well placed for the maximum "WOW" appeal; the low stone walls are quaint; and the grassy shoulders are mowed often. As an added bonus, the Blue Ridge Parkway boasts lodges, right on the Parkway, where you can shop for souvenirs or get a great meal.
Although autumn is the favored time for many travelers as they view the fall foliage, we enjoyed our ride in the spring with the decreased traffic and the spring and summer flowers in full bloom.
