A Traveler's Experience

The Monterey to Morro Bay stretch of the California coast continues to enchant. I only wish we allowed more time to spend amongst the coastal redwoods in Julia Pfeifer State Park - stunning!
Further down the coast at San Simeon is the amazingly extravagant Hearst Castle. A must-see if you're ever along the Central Coast.
Another surprise (just 14 miles inland on State Highway 46) is El Paso de Robles AKA Paso Robles. A charming town within the "heart" of the Central Coast wine region. Deliciously crafted wines and uncrowded roads through beautiful scenery. It doesn't get much better than this.
Enjoy!

Was great to get help paying for gas, share the driving, and make the way more interesting with conversation about the Beat Poets and William Randolph Hearst. We hooked up via craigslist rideshare, which -- contrary to popular belief -- is not sketchy at all.
