A Traveler's Experience
ThePinkLady on July 26, 2008 (traveled on July 17, 2008)Highland Scenic Highway (WV)
We rode with about 50 Harley's with the HOG Chapters on the WV Highland Scenic Byway. We went through Canaan Valley Resort, Seneca Rocks, Green Bank Observatory, Snowshoe, Beverley and Elkins. We stopped in Beverley for lunch. In Phillipi we saw the Covered Bridge, in Grafton we saw the National Cemetery, in Cool Springs we saw the smallest church and smallest mailing office. In Thomas we saw the windmills, then we returned to Canaan Valley Resort.
All in all we traveled about 357 wonderful, absolutely beautiful miles. We're going back next week to the Mountainman Rally in Circleville. We hope to see more of the Cranberry Glades.
No matter if you are on a motorbike, mountain bike, car, truck, snowmobile, skis, or foot, make the trip. It's well worth it.
What Others Have Said
ForestWander on July 2, 2011 (traveled on October 15, 2010)The fall foliage along the Highland Scenic Highway is amazing. We often come here to take drives and to see the fall foliage. The colors are amazing and the forest is very peaceful....
BxrLvr on June 22, 2009 (traveled on June 22, 2009)The trail at marker #5 is my long-time favorite. Uphill hike, somewhat strenuous but less than 1/2 mile. Climb up onto the rocks for a view beyond belief!
