A Traveler's Experience
RJohnston on March 8, 2011 (traveled on February 27, 2011)Red Rock Scenic Byway (AZ)
I've been going to this area since 1970. When I retired, I moved to Cottonwood, AZ, so that I could visit as often as possible. Some areas I visit are seldom seen by the millions of visitors annually. For this photo, I chose a day, just after a snowfall, to highlight the Red Rocks the way I like to see them. If you wish to capture photos that are different than the most common, get off the paved roads, onto the Red Dirt roads and go into the back-country as far as possible. Then, do some hiking on the trails. Believe me, if I can do it at 81 years, just taking my time, you can enjoy it also.
