A Traveler's Experience
ForestWander on July 2, 2011 (traveled on October 15, 2010)Highland Scenic Highway (WV)
The fall foliage along the Highland Scenic Highway is amazing. We often come here to take drives and to see the fall foliage. The colors are amazing and the forest is very peaceful.
One of our favorite places to visit along the Highland Scenic Highway is the Falls of Hills Creek. We love to visit these waterfalls. They are some of the most scenic we have ever had the pleasure to experience. The hike down to the waterfalls is only 3/4 of a mile one way so the hike is not that bad. The solid steps and well built board walks make the Falls of Hills Creek a nice place to visit along the Highland Scenic Highway.
Cranberry Glades and the multiple trails along the Highland Scenic Highway are a great experience. Unlike many places which are overcrowded with tourists the Highland Scenic highway offers an opportunity to experience some of the best scenery in West Virginia without competing with large crowds of people.
