A Traveler's Experience

We drove the Historic Columbia River Highway in October. We expected to see the Gorge ablaze with color, but because the warm weather lasted so late into the year, we only saw a few spots of color here and there. Nevertheless, the Gorge was beautiful and so were the many waterfalls along the byway. We kept our attention focused on the river most of the way, watching barges move up the river and windsurfers taking advantage of the nice day. We ended up watching the windsurfers in Hood River for a long time and decided we're definitely going back to learn how to windsurf.
