A Traveler's Experience

Great drive from Bryce Canyon heading North. Stayed the night at Capitol Reef NP, forget the name of the little motel on the right as you leave Torrey for Green River, but it had a great restaurant.
Have to appreciate the workskills and effort required to build the Hogs Back, back in those days. To carve that road out of the rock must have been incredibly hard work, given the equipment ( or lack of) they would have had to work with.
The scenery is fantastic and well worth the effort (I have driven it twice) and enjoyed it both times. If you love rugged scenery and have an appreciation of isolation, then drive Utah's Hwy 12, you will not be disappointed.
