A Traveler's Experience

This was a really beautiful drive around the San Juan Skyway. It had snowed two weeks before we left in the higher elevations and the tops of the Rockies were covered in snow. Down below along the drive the trees were showing their colors of golds, reds and yellows. Simply breathtaking.

solitaire on December 31, 2010 (traveled on July 7, 1985)That's right, 1985. I drove from Ouray to Silverton in perfectly good weather. My knuckles are still white. I still have nightmares about Colorado US 550! It's gorgeous journey but not for anyone with vertigo.
