If a day on the green is exactly what you need to relax, you will find extraordinary golfing opportunities near America's Byways®.

The Lincoln Highway in Illinois is a prime example of a golfer's dream. The five challenging courses along the Byway will inspire you with awe. Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields is home to the National 2003 Open Golf Tournament. Don't forget to check out Lynwood Lynks and Lodge in Thompson, a golf course that blends in to its surroundings! Windmills dot the green, an authentic split rail fence surrounds the course, and horseshoes mark the tees. It's sure to be a relaxing, memorable country experience.

For an unusual - and historical - lesson in golf, head to the Midland Trail in West Virginia, home of the oldest golf course in the U.S. Experience the game the way it was played in the course's beginnings at Oakhurst Links near the Greenbrier Resort, where you use wooden clubs and play with 19th-century rules!

No place in the world offers entertainment like Nevada, especially along the Byways. The Lake Tahoe Eastshore Drive has 12 golf courses nearby for an intense trip on the green or a leisurely diversion to unwind. And though the Las Vegas Strip is famous for its nightlife, you can fill an entire day at one of Las Vegas' 22 impressive golf courses. There is a course for any skill level in Las Vegas, their green fairways forming lush oases in the heart of the desert.

If you are more interested in watching the pros, no Byway is a better opportunity than A1A Scenic and Historic Coast Byway in Florida. Ponde Verde Beach, located at the north end of the Byway, is home to the PGA Tour National Headquarters, the Tournament Player's Club, where you can watch professional golfers tee off in March!

Many opportunities await golf lovers who visit America's Byways across the country. From lush resorts in the middle of the desert, to professional courses with challenging terrain, America's Byways offer you a plethora of opportunities to spend a relaxing day on the green.
