For a top notch golfing experience, travel the Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway. The byway is home to the bustling mining town of Leadville. Stay overnight here and learn about the area's history. After you have gleaned all you can from Leadville be sure to visit Mt. Massive Golf Course. The course is located just outside Leadville in a remote, yet convenient location. This may be a surprise because the course is North America's highest golf course.

Even if you are a beginner at the sport you will discover that you can play a “top” game of golf at Mt. Massive. This public golf course offers nine holes with a par 36. Designed by Adolph Kuss the course sits at 9,680 feet in elevation which means you will be taking your highest swings ever. However, don't plan your trip in the winter as the course is only able to operate from mid-May to mid-October. For an exciting experience of golfing on the highest golf course in North America, travel the Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway. You won't regret it.
