Indulge in one of the famous glass bottom boat tours at Silver Springs Park for a nostalgic adventure along the Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway. Through the clear glass windows set into the boat's hull, see dozens of species of fish, snails, clams, crawfish, and turtles swim below you - no scuba gear required! Explore 10,000 years of human history at various stops on the Fort King River Cruise, including an archaeological dig site and the 1830s' Fort King Army stockade. Or cruise into Florida's natural backyard on the Lost River Voyage, where American alligators, turtles, and other wildlife watch you warily from shadowed waters beneath lofty bald cypress trees.
If the alligators or other wild animals proved elusive on your cruise, stop by one of the park's many living wildlife exhibits. Gain a little luck and prosperity (so legend says) by gazing into the pink eyes of the "Swamp Ghost" -- an albino alligator and one of the rarest reptiles in the world. Get a close-up look at the rare and endangered Florida panther and the Kodiak bear of Alaska. Kids will love feeding farm animals like goats and turkeys at the Kritter Korral. Other natural attractions at the park include botanical gardens; bird, reptile, and snake shows; and tram rides on the Wilderness Trail.
