New Jersey settlers started making wines more than 200 years ago. With more than two centuries of experience to draw upon, and landscapes that are not only beautiful but productive, wineries in New Jersey present a combination of great scenic vistas and great-tasting wine. Just minutes from the Delaware River Scenic Byway, the award-winning Hopewell Valley Vineyards offer delicious wines produced from both Italian and domestic grapes. Some of these varieties include Chambourcin, Vidal, Pinot Grigio, and Pinot Nero. This flavorful winery has won awards every year since 2003. Just eight minutes east of Lambertville, Unionville Winery also produces premium wines. Sample the “Big O”, a Cab Franc-Cab Sauvignon blend that received a gold rating from the New Jersey Wine Growers Association.

Both sites welcome visitors to sample wines in their relaxing tasting rooms and browse their selection of vintages. Tours and special events may also be offered. Contact the wineries for more details. For a complete listing of wineries in New Jersey, visit New Jersey Wines.
